Selling Handmade Jewelry!

G'day!

One of my hidden talents is that I make and sell handmade jewelry. I make earrings, bracelets, rings, necklaces, anklets and even belts. Right now, I am focusing on making and selling my handmade rings! I am selling them at 2$ each, shipping and handling included. I make my rings out of clay noodles, I braid them and then I freeze them until it's time to ship. That way, the clay isn't all moldy when you receive it, and it won't change shape when you get it in the mail. All the money that I make selling these will go to the DIFD, (Do It For Daron) supporting mental health. If you are interested in buying some, leave me a comment with your three color choices and your email, and I will contact you!

I'll be selling a different piece of jewelry every week, so stay tuned! And every week, I'll choose a different charity that the money will go to. Making jewelry is just a hobby to me, so I'm not interested in making money from it. My life is pretty boring right now, so I have nothing to blog about besides this. Hope you understand, I've got writers block...

If any of my readers live in Ottawa, they know how hot it is here right now. I just want to pack my bags and move to a much colder country. I don't know what I would pack, though. Let me know what you guys would bring in the comments! If I could only bring two items it would probably be a snowsuit and some tea leaves. Which brings me to the next topic I wanted to discuss here on my blog. Here it is: I adore herbal tea! I was browsing the internet just a few days ago, and I came across a really cool way to make your own tea bags. They are great for gifts, and they are easy to customize. Even if you aren't into tea, I reccommend you go to this link and take a look. If you're interested, click here. I am planning on making these for my family members for Christmas. I admit, I love planning ahead of time. And I don't think tea goes bad very quickly, so I could even make them right now if I wanted to! But I won't, haha.

Some shoutouts for this week would be to Arianna, from 'The Texas Trekkie' blog, whom I mentioned last week, to thank her for also mentioning me in her blog! That means a lot, since this is a pretty new blog. Another shoutout would be to all the staff at Kobo ereaders. I recently won a contest through the Kobo facebook page, for a Kobo ereader touch with wi-fi! I already have one, so I'll be selling it. The last shoutout will be for Lady Gaga, I love how she stands up for what she believes in.

I'm hungry, so you'll have to excuse me while I go eat my dinner. Until next Tuesday, I hope you all have a great week and don't ever forget that you are all beautiful no matter what anybody else says. Also, don't lie because it will bite you in the back in the future. I learned that the hard way.

I am home sick today, so I got some stuff done and here I am writing a blog post that I hope you will enjoy! I have lots to talk about, so if you aren't ready to read a novel (Exaggeration? Indeed.) then I suggest you bookmark this page and come back later when you've drank your coffee and had a shower. I usually blog on Tuesdays, but I'm home today so I figured I'd give it to you a day early as a Mother's Day treat. Let me know in the comments what you did for your Mom on Mother's Day!

I painted my Mom a mug with her name on it, made her a really creative card, and served her breakfast in bed. I even let her sleep in a little while longer, instead of crawling into her bed looking for warmth. (It's really cold in my room...) I'd like to give a couple shoutouts to all the Mom's out there in the world! You ladies rock! Another shoutout to the kids out there who don't have a Mom. You're not alone, just hang in there! Shoutout to my classmate, Sandrine who celebrated her 13th birthday today! Shoutout to Arianna, from http://www.thetexastrekkie2.blogspot.ca. You should really go visit her blog, it's amazing.

I have some suggestions of cool stuff for this week! So yesterday, for Mother's day, my Dad drove my whole family out of the country for a sightseeing day trip. Me and my little sister aren't that into sightseeing, so we rented a really funny movie called 'Mr. Popper's Penguins'. It's hilarious, I really recommend you check it out! And, just if you're wondering, we have DVD players in our car, so that's how we watched the movie. If ever you go on a road trip with kids, pop a DVD player and a movie in the backseat and you're set for hours of silence, haha. A music recommendation for this week would be 'Another Day In Paradise' by Phil Collins. He's one of my all-time favourites. That song should really be on your summer vacation playlist right now! For a reading suggestion, I strongly suggest subscribing to 'OWL Magazine'. It's fun, and educational. They hold contests for every issue and you can win some totally awesome prizes. Go check it out!

My Dad ordered an ice cream maker off the shopping channel a few weeks ago. And it recently came in the mail. I am so excited to use it! Maybe I can post a few ice cream recipes when I figure them out. While we're talking ice cream, could you guys let me know in the comments what your favourite ice cream flavor is? I'm trying to figure out what flavor to make. I really like Cookies 'n' Cream.

I would really appreciate some help on getting some new readers. I'll hold a little contest for it. If you can get me three (3) new readers, let me know what their names and email addresses are. I'll post a shoutout to you with a detailed message on my blog. It can even be for promoting your own blog, also.

A truckload of stuff to talk about this week...

First and foremost, let me say a quick 'hello' to my readers. I've been looking at my audience from my blog posts, and it looks like I've been getting a lot of page views from Russia! Hello my Russian friends! Also, quite a few from Canada, (Hello my dear hometown!) and the United States of America.

I'd like to give a shoutout to everyone at the dudley® company! Last week, I applied to become a dudley® Brand Ambassador. The results will be in sometime this spring, so I'll keep you all posted about who was chosen! And, a shoutout to my aunt, who recently passed away. Rest in peace, and watch over us all. I love you, and you will be very, very missed. Shoutout to my uncle, who recently had a stroke, but is doing great. Get well soon!

Guys, get reading and writing! Last week, I posted a Prologue of a novel I am working on, and nobody commented yet with a title suggestion. Put on your thinking cap and get creative! You have ten days, but I might have to extend the deadline so that you guys have more time.

Here are this weeks' suggestions! A song suggestion for this week is: Both Of Us by B.o.B ft. Taylor Swift. A book suggestion for this week is: The Never Ending Story by Michael Ende. A movie suggestion for this week is: Chimpanzee! Go see it in theatres right now!

I've been feeling really crappy lately. And I have an explanation for that. Yesterday, my cycle restarted. It's now time to put away all of my white pants that I cannot wear at this time of the month. If you're a girl, you know that probably the worst thing about being a girl is, in fact, your period. It's nothing to be ashamed of, but let's just say that PMS-ing is not the funnest thing in the world. Enough about my period now.

Seriously, enough about my period now.

I need everybody's help! I'm going to post the prologue of a novel I've recently started writing, and I'm asking you guys to read it, and let me know a suitable title for it. It's sort of a mystery book. But not quite, if that makes any sense. I was thinking about naming it 'The Book With No Title', but I found that was a bit too cliché for my first novel. I want it to be a title that catches your eye, that makes you want to buy and read the book.

Let's turn this into a little contest. You can submit as many titles for the book as you want, and I'll leave the deadline to... May 20th, 2012. That gives you plenty of time to think up some good titles. The person who writes the title that I like the most, will get mentioned in my book when it gets published, and will get a shoutout on my blog. If you're wondering how I'm going to mention you in my book, I will probably write something like this: 'The author of this book would like to thank 'YOURNAMEHERE' for the great help 'HE/SHE' has been in helping choose the title of this novel.' If you submit a title here, in the comments, you give me full right to use it in my book. Just had to get the legal crap over with.

Since this is my first blog post, I'm hoping this is a good way to kick off my blogging life. So I'll post the Prologue now.

Prologue

As I walked across the room, the fresh smell of bread, cupcakes, and odd little pastries filled Myriam’s Bakery; the place I had no choice to work at ever since I was struggling with money, when my parents left me behind in the royal kingdom. In other words, that would mean for a little more than two full years now. I don’t know how I managed to do it, but somehow, I managed to pull through. My name is Nora Ellen. I am twenty-two years old, and I am quite tall, probably the height of the average Canadian woman. I have eyes the colour of the big blue sea, and lip naturally the colour of the reddest apples in the orchard. I have luxurious blonde hair the colour of the golden sun you see in the summer when you’re sitting on the porch sipping orange juice. I am slim, but that’s only because I simply cannot afford to buy anything very good-tasting. Sometimes, Myriam Wade, the shop owner, gives me the batch that burnt in the oven to take home. I’d thank her, and walk away. I spend my days working at Myriam’s Bakery, and writing in the comfort of my small apartment building located in the West-end of the country. I was born to a wealthy family, the Ellen family. My father passed away of sudden illness, and when I was only at the tender age of seven years old, my Mother left on a day trip with her friends, and never came back. Still, to this day, I have no idea what happened to her. She might even still be alive, but I doubt she’d recognize me. I take comfort in thinking that she’s dead, in the hands of God, instead of being out on the streets suffering like I am. After the loss of my parents, I was placed in a foster family since I was too young to take over the kingdom, as my parents had written in their wills. Of course, they didn’t expect to die that early. They thought they would grow old together, live a happy life, and then die of old age together, and give me the kingdom so that I could raise my own family and direct the country. But obviously, it didn’t work out that way. I wish I could’ve gone back to the kingdom when I was old enough, but the rules are that once a member of the royal family decides to quit their royal duties, they cannot come back. The saddest part of this is that I didn’t decide to leave… I was forced to. The mother of the foster family I was in let me leave to my own apartment when I was as young as eighteen, she taught me to read and write, which she thought was all I needed to know. I wanted to stay with the foster family, but even though I cried and cried, the mother of the foster family explained that they needed to make more room for the other orphans that needed a loving home. Sometimes I wonder if she actually cared about me. I know that the others did, as they were devastated when I left, but the Mother, she just stared at me and waved with a huge smile on her face, probably wondering who their next foster child would be. I loved reading, but what I loved the most out of the two was writing. I think my writing talents come from my Grandmother. She has written books, poems, everything. And most of them have gotten published. In my life, I have two goals. The first one would be to find my Grandmother, Rose Ellen, who I misplaced and lost contact with during my move to the foster family, and second would be to have at least one of my books published. Meaning that if you are reading this, and it has a nice cover and all the legal stuff written on the side inside covers of the book, my writing dream probably came true. Speaking of writing, a couple years ago, I started keeping a journal of my experiences with life, loss and love. And some pretty out-of-the-ordinary people. I read it from time to time, as it brings back memories. That is the journal you are about to read. This is that journal.

 Hope you adore it!

TTYL,

Caroline
